International Ballet Theater!
IBT is composed of 15 professional dancers from companies across the United States and Russia, and has been critically acclaimed for its superb dancing, innovative choreography and high-energy enthusiasm. Dedicated to the preservation of ballet as an art form, IBT strives to keep the spirit of Russian Ballet alive by performing classical repertoire with the original choreography from famous ballets, such as Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, and many others.
IBT intents to provide classical dance education of the highest quality and to stage performances of high artistic merit in the Chester County area. Our School will be dedicated to providing all children with the opportunity to experience the joys of movement through the study of classical ballet, jazz, modern, and character classes. Whether or not children aspire to professional dance careers, the exercises used classes make students strong and healthy, and a classroom style that helps them to develop poise, confidence, respect and self-esteem. The "listen, think, & move" philosophy they acquire through dance training at IBT will stay with them throughout their lives, helping them to develop their creative thinking and problem solving skills, expand their imagination, and help them gain a sense of membership in a vibrant arts community, becoming responsible citizens and leaders who are supportive of the arts.
Company's mission is to educate - through performances, tours, and lecture demonstrations - audiences on both national and international levels, and to foster an appreciation of dance on a regional level for local audiences and to give dedicated young dancers the opportunity to perform at a pre-professional level. There are performance opportunities for all students age 5 and up in the Company’s lavish production of The Nutcracker, and as the students progress into the upper levels of the School, the IBT Company provides other exciting and challenging performance opportunities, including other smaller workshop performances, which feature original choreography by both established and up-and-coming choreographers. The end of the year's performance is a celebratory culmination of the school year, with performances and lecture demonstrations presented by various levels of the school, as well as performances by the IBT Senior and Junior dancers.
